CBT & DBT Counselling
Calmer Mind.
Stronger Skills.
Everyone struggles at times — thoughts that won’t slow down, emotions that feel overwhelming, or patterns that keep repeating despite your best efforts. Therapy can help you understand those patterns and develop practical skills to respond differently.
Our clinicians use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help children, teens, and adults build skills for managing thoughts, regulating emotions, and navigating everyday challenges. We provide a warm, respectful environment where you can explore difficulties and develop tools that support meaningful change.

Recognizing the Patterns
CBT or DBT counselling may be helpful if you or someone you care about is experiencing any of the following. These are common starting points — not requirements.
Persistent Worry or OverthinkingThoughts that cycle and repeat, making it hard to feel settled or make decisions with confidence.
Difficulty Managing Strong EmotionsEmotions that arrive quickly and feel overwhelming, sometimes leading to reactions you later regret.
Repeating PatternsThe same cycles in relationships, behaviour, or decision-making — despite wanting things to be different.
Avoidance of Everyday SituationsPulling away from activities, conversations, or responsibilities that once felt manageable.
Stress, Burnout, or ExhaustionFeeling emotionally drained, disconnected, or running on empty despite trying to keep up.
Feeling StuckKnowing what you want to change but not having the tools or support to make it happen.
Relationship PatternsRecognising reactive, avoidant, or people-pleasing patterns in relationships — and building the communication and emotional regulation skills to respond differently with a partner, family member, or colleague.
Therapy focuses on understanding these patterns and learning practical strategies that can support healthier responses. Progress looks different for everyone.
CBT vs DBT: Two Toolkits,
One Goal
Both CBT and DBT are evidence-informed, skills-focused therapies. Your clinician may use one approach, or combine elements of both, depending on your goals and the patterns you identify together.
The Thinking Toolkit
Understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions
Often Helpful For
CBT focuses on the relationship between Thoughts → Feelings → Actions. Together we identify common thinking patterns and explore ways to interpret situations more realistically and constructively.
The Emotion Toolkit
Building skills for emotional regulation, acceptance, and connection
Often Helpful For
DBT builds on CBT principles and adds skills that support emotional regulation and acceptance. Common DBT skills include:
Therapy Adapted to Your Life Stage
Therapy approaches are adapted to match developmental needs and life stages. Here’s what therapy typically looks like for each group.
Sessions may include visual tools, play-based activities, and simple language to help children understand emotions and behaviour. Parents and caregivers are important partners — strategies discussed in therapy can often be practiced at home.

Difficulty with transitions, routine changes, or new situations
Worry patterns that affect sleep, school, or social confidence
