Comprehensive Clinical assessments are available for children, adolescents and adults across Ontario.
Assessments are led by a Registered Psychologist or Psychological Associate, supported by their clinical assessment team.
Emotional, behavioural, and personality-related difficulties do not always fit neatly into one diagnosis.
Anxiety, low mood, trauma-related symptoms, emotional regulation difficulties, and longstanding patterns of thinking or relating to others can overlap. Symptoms may also be influenced by life circumstances, relationships, work or school stress, or other factors.
A Comprehensive Clinical Assessment helps understand what may be contributing to your difficulties and whether they may reflect a diagnosable psychological condition or other contributing factors.
Every Comprehensive Clinical Assessment begins with a virtual clinical intake.
During this appointment, the clinician will discuss your concerns, relevant history, current difficulties, and what you are hoping to understand through the assessment.
The intake also helps determine whether a Comprehensive Clinical Assessment is the right next step for you.
Following the intake, we will let you know whether we recommend proceeding with the Comprehensive Clinical Assessment or whether another type of assessment or next step may be more appropriate.
The clinical intake fee is $300 and is paid before the appointment.
After your intake, you have 7 days to decide whether you would like to proceed.
If you proceed with the recommended assessment within 7 days, 100% of your $300 intake fee will be credited toward your assessment fee.
There is no obligation to continue after the intake.
Your assessment is individualized based on your concerns, history, and what you are hoping to understand.
The psychologist or psychological associate retains independent clinical judgment regarding the assessment methods needed to appropriately understand and assess your concerns.
If a different or additional assessment may be needed, the clinician will discuss this with you before proceeding. You will be told what is recommended, why, what it involves, and any additional fees before you decide whether to proceed.
We offer different payment options for the same Comprehensive Clinical Assessment.
Pay the assessment fee in one instalment on or within 7 days following your clinical intake.
Your $300 intake payment is fully credited toward the total fee.
If you prefer to divide the assessment cost into scheduled payments, the total assessment fee is $2,800.
Your $300 clinical intake payment is credited toward the total assessment fee.
The remaining balance can be divided between payments following intake and before the final feedback session.
All required payments must be completed no later than 14 days before the feedback appointment, unless another approved payment arrangement is in place.
For patients who require additional payment flexibility, an extended bi-weekly payment plan may be available.
Following the clinical intake:

If the clinician determines that this assessment is appropriate for your concerns, you can choose whether you would like to proceed.
If you proceed within 7 days, your $300 intake fee is fully credited toward the assessment.
Sometimes your concerns may be better addressed through another type of assessment, such as an ADHD, autism, learning, or developmental assessment.
If this happens, the clinician will explain the recommended assessment, why it may be appropriate, what it involves, and any applicable fees.
We will not add or substantially change the assessment you agreed to without first discussing it with you and obtaining your consent.
The complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessment process typically takes approximately 8–10 weeks.
Timelines can vary depending on your individual needs, appointment availability, completion of assessment measures, and receipt of any requested information.
We will explain the expected timeline after your clinical intake.
As part of our community-support initiative, we offer a comparative price match for eligible psychologist-led assessment programs.
To request a price match, you must provide a current written quote from a comparable clinic within one week of your Toriven Health clinical intake.
The quote must:
Physician-led, nurse practitioner-led, registered nurse-led, or other non-psychology assessment models are not eligible for price matching.
Price-match requests are subject to review for eligibility and comparability.
