We Can Help
You Find It.

You’ve been noticing it for a while — a gap between how hard someone is trying and the results they’re getting. Between who you know they are, and how the world is seeing them. We’re here to help you understand what’s underneath that.

Not all assessments result in a diagnosis — our goal is an honest, evidence-based clinical answer. Assessment findings are documented in a written report and reviewed with you in a dedicated feedback session.

When a Focused Assessment Isn’t Enough

Is Your Situation More Complex?

If you’ve had prior assessments that haven’t given you a complete picture, need documentation for a legal or disability proceeding, or require a full cognitive profile across every domain — a Neuropsychological Battery Assessment may be what your situation requires. This is a different clinical product entirely: 40–60 hours, a 40–80 page integrated report, authored and signed by our in-house neuropsychologist.

You’re Not Alone in This
Clinical standards: All assessments follow internationally recognised standards, including the DSM-5-TR diagnostic framework and standardised cognitive and academic testing batteries validated for use with Canadian populations.

ADHD Rarely Travels Alone

What looks like ADHD is often something more layered — anxiety that looks like avoidance, mood that looks like behaviour, effort that looks like laziness. Select your age group below.

Ages 6–10: When the Effort Is Real But the Results Don’t Follow

Young children with ADHD or attention challenges often show up as “a handful” to the outside world — but inside, they’re working incredibly hard. Here’s what families describe:

Explosive reactions to transitions, homework, or small changes that seem to come out of nowhere

Can focus intensely on things they love — but simply cannot start tasks they don’t

Teachers raising concerns; notes home are becoming a regular occurrence

Sleep is hard. Mornings are harder. The whole family day is being organized around the struggle.

You’ve tried every reward chart, reminder system, and routine — and nothing holds

Ages 6–10
“The hardest part isn’t the behaviour itself. It’s not knowing whether what you’re seeing is ADHD, anxiety, development, or something else entirely — and not knowing who to ask.”
Ages 8–13: When Effort and Output Stop Matching

As academic and social demands increase, the gap between what a child is capable of and what they’re producing becomes harder to explain away. Here’s what this age group looks like:

Homework that should take 20 minutes regularly takes 2 hours and ends in conflict

Working harder than their classmates — but producing worse results, not better

Teachers and parents are seeing different children — composed at school, falling apart at home

Emotional meltdowns or shutdowns that arrive fast and are hard to recover from

You’ve been told it’s “anxiety” or “ADHD” but nothing has actually changed

Ages 8–13
“This age is where masking becomes a real pattern — children holding it together at school and completely releasing at home. Understanding what’s underneath that is what changes the trajectory.”
Ages 13–17: Brilliant, Overwhelmed, and Increasingly Withdrawn

For teenagers, ADHD and mental health challenges often arrive together and are harder to separate. Common experiences at each stage

Articulate and insightful in conversation — but falling behind in class

Emotional storms that arrive fast, feel overwhelming, and are hard to recover from

Increasingly withdrawn — activities, friendships, and interests going quiet

They’ve tried therapy before — but it felt like talking without a direction

They know their patterns but don’t know how to change them — and that awareness makes it worse

Ages 13–17
“For teens aged 12 and up, we offer a private feedback session — a dedicated space where your teenager hears directly from their clinician how their brain works, in language built for them.”
Adults 18+: When the Coping Strategies Stop Working

Many adults with ADHD managed for years through effort, systems, and willpower. But the strategies that worked in their twenties often stop working later. Common experiences that bring people here:

You’ve always “managed” — but the coping strategies are getting harder and harder to maintain

Work, relationships, or daily functioning are suffering in ways you can no longer explain away

You were never assessed as a child, or a childhood diagnosis hasn’t been reviewed in years

You wonder if what looks like anxiety or depression is actually something else underneath

You want answers — not another strategy to layer on top of a system that’s already breaking

Adults 18+
“ADHD, anxiety, and mood challenges often overlap in ways that make each one harder to see clearly. That’s exactly why an assessment comes before any treatment plan — so the plan is actually built for you.”
Our Approach

Differential Diagnosis.
Not Just a Checklist.

Our assessments are led by Registered Psychologists (C.Psych., Ontario). We specialize in differential diagnosis — we don’t just look for ADHD. We look for what might be mimicking it, co-occurring with it, or being masked by it.

Validated Clinical Tools

We use the CPT-3, BRIEF-2, and standardized anxiety and mood measures — alongside a thorough developmental and clinical history — to build an accurate, complete picture.

Strengths-Based Profiling

We don’t just identify challenges. We document what’s working, what’s compensating, and what this person is genuinely capable of when conditions are right.

School & Physician-Ready Reports

Our reports are structured for direct use by educators, pediatricians, family physicians, and workplaces. Structured in language commonly used by schools and physicians.

For Teenagers (Ages 12+)

Your Teen Gets Their Own Session

For teens aged 12 and up, we offer a private feedback session — a dedicated space where your teenager hears directly from their clinician how their brain works, in language built for them, not for a school file. Understanding yourself changes how you approach everything.

Virtual-First Advantage

We See You in Your Real Environment

Virtual delivery means we observe clients in the environment where challenges actually occur — home routines, homework time, transitions — rather than in a clinical setting where behaviour is naturally different.

Assessment methods are selected based on age, presentation, and clinical appropriateness, and administered in accordance with professional standards.

That’s completely normal — most families and individuals who reach out aren’t sure either. Our free 20-minute Guidance Call is a genuine conversation, not a sales call. We’ll listen, answer your questions honestly, and tell you what we think the right path is — even if that path isn’t with us.

Want a clinical opinion before you decide?
Pre-Assessment Clinical Consultation

Sometimes the most useful thing before a full assessment is an honest clinical conversation. In a paid session with a registered psychologist, your clinician reviews your history and presenting concerns, explains what pathway — if any — is clinically indicated, and gives you an independent professional opinion on the right next step.

You may find that a less intensive option is right, that a phased approach makes more sense, or that a full assessment is clearly what’s needed. That clarity should come before any financial commitment — including whether a payment plan makes sense for your situation. If you do proceed with a Toriven™ assessment, the consultation fee is credited in full toward your care.
