Finally Having
An Explanation.
Now We Can Help
You Move Forward.
Most families don’t search for an autism assessment on day one. They arrive here after a long period of noticing, second-guessing, and wondering. We’re here to help you move from “something isn’t fitting” to “now I understand.”
Whether you’re a parent who’s been watching closely for years, a teenager quietly asking your own questions, or an adult who has always felt like you were reading a different manual than everyone else — this is a space where your observations matter.
No referral needed. No obligation. Call-back option available.
🕐 Opening late spring / summer 2026 — not yet accepting patients
Not all assessments result in a diagnosis — our goal is an honest, evidence-based clinical answer. Assessment findings are documented in a written report and reviewed with you in a dedicated feedback session.
Autism Looks Different At Every Age
What shows up in a 6-year-old looks very different in a teenager, and different again in an adult who has spent decades masking. Common experiences at each stage.
In early childhood, autism can look like a child who plays or communicates differently than peers — or who is exhausted by social situations in a way others don’t seem to be.
Deep focus on specific interests in ways that feel qualitatively different from typical childhood enthusiasm
Reactions to sounds, textures, or transitions that seem “bigger” than expected — and are hard to predict
Differences in eye contact, play style, or back-and-forth conversation that teachers or other parents have mentioned
Meltdowns that seem to come out of nowhere, followed by genuine exhaustion
You’ve been offered explanations — anxiety, ADHD, “just a phase” — but none of them quite fit
This is often the age where the gap between a child’s effort and their results becomes most visible — particularly in friendships and group settings.
Working incredibly hard to fit in socially — but coming home completely depleted
Rules of friendship that seem obvious to peers are confusing, inconsistent, or exhausting to navigate
Strong preference for structure, sameness, and predictability — changes to routine cause real distress
Intense interests that are a genuine source of joy and competence, even when they’re “niche”
Anxiety that seems connected to social performance and the effort of reading social cues all day
Many autistic teenagers are beginning to piece together their own understanding of why they feel different. This age often involves self-identification, burnout, or both.
They’ve done their own research — TikTok, Reddit, YouTube — and what they’re finding resonates deeply
Social exhaustion has become a defining feature of their week — school is survived, not experienced
Increasing withdrawal from activities and friendships that used to feel manageable
Emotional regulation is harder than peers — not because of unwillingness, but because of genuine neurological difference
They want a real explanation — not reassurance, not coping tips, but an honest answer
Many adults who receive an autism assessment later in life describe the same experience: a lifetime of working twice as hard as everyone else to appear “normal,” without ever understanding why.
You’ve always felt like you were following social rules that everyone else seems to know intuitively
Sensory sensitivities — to noise, light, texture, crowds — that you’ve learned to hide but never learned to manage
Burnout that cycles with periods of intense masking — you can perform neurotypicality for a while, but not indefinitely
Relationships that feel genuinely confusing — not from lack of care, but from a different way of reading and giving signals
A growing sense that an explanation would change not just your understanding of yourself, but your relationship with your own history
Strengths-Based.
Not Deficit-Focused.
Our assessments are led by Registered Psychologists (C.Psych) experienced in neurodevelopmental evaluation across all ages. We don’t just look for what’s difficult. We look for what’s genuinely capable, how this person experiences the world, and what conditions would allow them to thrive.
Tailored to Age & Communication Style
We adapt our tools, pacing, and environment to each individual. A 7-year-old’s assessment looks very different from an adult’s — and both are designed to be low-pressure and respectful.
Beyond Autism: Differential Diagnosis
We look at the full picture. If the outcome isn’t autism, we identify what is — ADHD, anxiety, a learning profile, or a combination. Clarity is the goal, not a predetermined answer.
School, Workplace & Physician-Ready Reports
Reports are structured to meet typical documentation requirements for schools, workplaces, and physicians — so the people who need to act on your results have what they need to do so.
Your Teen’s Own Feedback Session
For teens aged 12 and up, we offer a private feedback session — a dedicated space where your teenager hears directly from their clinician what was found, in language built for them.
Feedback structure follows Ontario consent and confidentiality standards, in accordance with Ontario consent and capacity legislation.
We See the Real Environment
Sensory and social challenges often present differently in familiar environments than in a clinical office. Virtual-first delivery means we observe individuals where the challenges actually occur — at home, in their space.
Clinically Driven Mode of Delivery: Assessment methods are selected based on age, presentation, and clinical appropriateness, and are delivered in accordance with professional standards and standardized administration requirements.
Neurodiversity-Affirming: We don’t approach autism as something to be fixed. Our goal is understanding — so that the world can adapt to support this person, rather than asking this person to keep adapting alone.
Choosing the Right Level of Clarity
Not every situation requires the same depth of evaluation. We’ve built three pathways based on the question you’re actually trying to answer. If you’re unsure, start with a free Guidance Call.

When a Focused Assessment Isn’t Enough
Is Your Situation More Complex?
If you’ve had prior assessments that haven’t given you a complete picture, need documentation for a legal or disability proceeding, or require a full cognitive profile across every domain — a Neuropsychological Battery Assessment may be what your situation requires. This is a different clinical product entirely: 40–60 hours, a 40–80 page integrated report, authored and signed by our in-house neuropsychologist.

That’s completely normal — most families and individuals who reach out aren’t sure either. Our free 20-minute Guidance Call is a genuine conversation, not a sales call. We’ll listen, answer your questions honestly, and tell you what we think the right path is — even if that path isn’t with us.

Sometimes the most useful thing before a full assessment is an honest clinical conversation. In a paid session with a registered psychologist, your clinician reviews your history and presenting concerns, explains what pathway — if any — is clinically indicated, and gives you an independent professional opinion on the right next step.
You may find that a less intensive option is right, that a phased approach makes more sense, or that a full assessment is clearly what’s needed. That clarity should come before any financial commitment — including whether a payment plan makes sense for your situation. If you do proceed with a Toriven™ assessment, the consultation fee is credited in full toward your care.

Wondering about the cost of an ASD assessment?
We want cost to be the last barrier, not the first. If you’re ready to move forward and would like to explore a payment plan, our intake team can walk you through the options after your clinical consultation. No pressure, no obligation.
Payment plans are provided by independent third-party lenders and are subject to lender approval and individual eligibility. Toriven™ is not a lender and does not participate in lending decisions. Monthly estimates are illustrative only — actual terms confirmed by the lender at application. See our Fees & Financing page for full details.
A Clear Process, From First Call to Final Report
Every step is transparent, low-pressure, and clinically rigorous — so you always know where you are and what comes next.
A relaxed, no-pressure conversation. We listen to your observations and give you an honest recommendation on where to start — or whether a different type of support would be a better fit first.
A deep-dive session covering developmental history, school life, sensory profile, social history, and family observations. For children, parents are central. For teens and adults, the individual’s own account drives the session.
Validated neurodevelopmental tools delivered respectfully and adapted to age and communication style. We prioritize comfort and genuine engagement over clinical efficiency.
Your clinician walks through every finding in plain language. You receive a report built for direct use by schools, physicians, and workplaces — with specific, actionable accommodation recommendations.
