Who We Assess

Combined ASD + ADHD + LD assessments are available for children, adolescents and adults across Ontario.

Assessments are led by a Registered Psychologist or Psychological Associate, supported by their clinical assessment team.

Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Learning Disabilities (LD) are different conditions, but they can occur together and sometimes affect overlapping areas such as attention, executive functioning, communication, social interaction, learning, memory, processing, reading, writing, and mathematics.

A Combined ASD + ADHD + LD Assessment investigates all three areas within one coordinated assessment pathway.

The purpose is not to assume that you have all three conditions. The assessment helps determine whether your experiences are consistent with ASD, ADHD, a Learning Disability, a combination of these conditions, or whether another explanation or assessment pathway should be considered.

Start With a Clinical Intake

Start With a Clinical Intake

You do not need to determine which assessment or how much testing you need before contacting us.

Your clinician will review your concerns, developmental and educational history, previous assessments where applicable, and what you are hoping to understand.

They will then determine whether a Combined ASD + ADHD + LD Assessment, a more focused assessment, or a Comprehensive Integrated Assessment is the appropriate pathway.

Assessment Details

What Can the Assessment Explore?

Depending on your individual needs, the assessment may explore the following areas.

Area What We May Be Trying to Understand
Autism (ASD) Social communication, interaction, sensory experiences, routines, interests, flexibility and developmental patterns.
ADHD Attention, concentration, impulsivity, organization, working memory and executive functioning.
Learning Disability (LD) Cognitive abilities, academic achievement, reading, writing, mathematics, memory, learning and processing.
🧠

Depending on your individual needs, the assessment may include clinical and developmental history, Autism- and ADHD-focused assessment, cognitive and academic testing, memory and executive-functioning assessment, relevant records or collateral information, clinical interpretation, feedback, a psychological report, and recommendations.

Assessment Tools

Assessment Tools

There is no fixed battery of tests that every patient receives.

Your psychologist or psychological associate selects appropriate tools based on your age, history, concerns, existing information, assessment needs, and professional clinical judgment.

Assessment Area Examples of Tools
Cognitive, Academic & Learning WISC / WAIS, WIAT, WRAML, Beery VMI
Autism MIGDAS and other appropriate Autism assessment methods
ADHD & Executive Functioning CAARS, ASRS, BRIEF-2
Emotional, Behavioural & Clinical BASC, SCID-5, GAD-7, PHQ-9, PCL-5 where appropriate
🔍

These are examples, not a checklist. Your clinician may use some of these tools or other clinically appropriate measures.

Some components may be completed virtually. Standardized cognitive, academic, memory or other testing may require in-person assessment at our Hamilton location.

Individualized Scope & Cost

Individualized Scope & Cost

Even when ASD, ADHD and LD are all being assessed, the depth and scope of the assessment can vary from person to person.

Some patients may require a more focused combination of assessment components, while others may require broader cognitive, academic, learning, neurodevelopmental or Psychoeducational Assessment. In some cases, the clinician may recommend a Comprehensive Integrated Assessment instead.

For this reason, we do not publish a fixed fee for this assessment pathway.
