Position Summary
As a Registered Social Worker – Child, Youth & Family at Toriven™, you will provide evidence-based therapy and family support to children, youth, and teens across Ontario within a virtual-first, multidisciplinary care model.
This is a clinically focused role combining individual therapy, group facilitation, parent coaching, and school-related consultation. You will work directly with families while collaborating closely with psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and learning specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
You will support a wide range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, family conflict, and school-related concerns, while contributing to a structured, team-based approach to care delivery.
IEP and school system support provided through this role is consultative in nature and does not constitute legal or educational representation.
This role provides clinical care within a multidisciplinary, collaborative model. All regulated clinicians maintain independent clinical judgment in accordance with professional standards, and Toriven™ does not direct or influence individual clinical decisions.
What You Will Do
Clinical Therapy & Group Programs (50%)
- Deliver evidence-based individual therapy for children, youth, and teens across anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, grief, and family-related presentations.
- Design and facilitate structured group programs for youth and teens (e.g., CBT-informed, DBT skills, emotional regulation, psychoeducation).
- Provide parent coaching and psychoeducation to support families in understanding and managing mental health and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with psychologists, SLPs, and other clinical team members on shared cases to ensure coordinated care.
School Systems & Family Support (50%)
- Provide IEP and school system consultation to families, including understanding IEPs, preparing for meetings, and navigating accommodation requests.
- Attend school meetings and IPRC proceedings virtually to support families in communication and advocacy.
- Support post-secondary transition planning for youth, including executive functioning, self-advocacy, and transition readiness.
- Collaborate with learning and academic support providers to align clinical and educational support strategies.
- Provide consultation to educators and school teams where appropriate.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering therapy to children, youth, and families across a range of mental health presentations.
- Strong understanding of family systems and the impact of mental health on family functioning.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario school system, including IEP processes, IPRC procedures, and accommodation frameworks.
- Experience designing and facilitating group programs for youth and teens.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical concepts into clear, practical guidance for families.
- Experience delivering services in a virtual or telehealth setting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary, team-based care model.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Current OCSWSSW registration (RSW), in good standing with no conditions.
- Post-registration clinical experience with children, youth, and families.
- Clean Vulnerable Sector Screening (Ontario — mandatory).
- Authorized to work and reside in Ontario.
- CBT and/or DBT training or certification strongly preferred.
- Experience with Ontario special education systems and IEP processes considered an asset.
- French language proficiency considered an asset.
